Drainage Rates

Under the Land Drainage Act 1991, all occupiers of land and buildings within the Board's district are legally obliged to pay drainage rates.

Drainage rates are issued annually and the financial year runs from the 1st April to 31st March.

Drainage rates are due on demand and the final date for payment is the 30th September. Rates can be paid to the office or by the Bank Giro payment slip, at any Bank. No charge is made for this service.

Please remember to inform the Board if you buy or sell any land so that your drainage rate bill may be amended.

North Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council and West Lindsey District Council pay special levies to the board in respect of all domestic and commercial properties within the district.

On the 26th January 2010 the Board resolved to levy a rate of 3.66 pence in the pound for the financial year commencing 1st April 2010. This represents one of the lowest drainage rates in England and Wales.
